Installation Procedure:
- Connect the Modem to the Internet port of the NETGEAR router and the computer to any of the four LAN ports as shown in the diagram.
- Open an Internet Explorer browser and type the router IP address which would be either http://192.168.0.1 or http://192.168.1.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
-
- The Login window will prompt for the router configuration username and password.
- The default username is “admin” and the default password is “password”
- Click Setup Wizard on the top left corner, Select Yes for the Setup Wizard to detect the type of internet connection and click Next.
- The Setup Wizard will detect the type of Internet connection. For Cable Internet connections, Setup Wizard will detect Dynamic IP. Click Next
- You do not have to change the default settings unless your ISP has given you specific DNS information which must be configured.
- The router will now save these settings. When complete, you can verify whether you are connected to the internet from the Router Status > Maintenance menu.
Verify you have a valid IP address (not-blank / 0.0.0.0) on the Internet Port assigned by your ISP
