Apple Macintosh Open Transport,TCP/IP Configuration Guide

A few caveats:

Do not attempt to configure any version of Open Transport prior to 1.1. Use MacTCP.

If this is a non-PCI version of the Mac Hardware, and Open Transport is installed, there will be an icon in the Apple Extras folder called the Network Software Selector.

This will bring up the Network Software Selector. This is used to select between Classic networking (MacTCP) and Open Transport Networking. If the mode is changed via this selector box, the Mac must be restarted for the new mode to take effect.

Specify that the current configuration should be saved.

Note: There should be no need to restart the Mac for IP changes to take effect.
